Prosado.com is a service that connects customers who need to find a preparer for their tax return with the right tax preparer for them.
Yes, there is an annual fee of $500 to be a member of Prosado, however this amount is currently waived and the membership is free. Only members can bid on business from potential new customers. After a customer accepts your bid, Prosado will collect the bid amount. When both parties have marked the job complete, your fee, minus 10% (minimum $15) will be transferred into your bank account in approximately 7 days. It's a very small cost for such great potential for new business.
RFB is simply a “Request For Bid”, or in other words, potential customers are requesting for all eligible Tax Preparers to bid on preparing their tax return.
To change your bid, simply click on the “rebid” link on the “My Bids” tab of your dashboard. Follow the prompts from there.
If any changes occur after you have placed a bid, you will receive an email containing all of the updated information. This will also appear on the "My Bids" tab of your dashboard. You can either update your bid based on the new information or you can decline to bid again.
All customers are obligated to complete their RFB honestly. If the true complexity of the tax return is different than the RFB indicated, we suggest you speak with the customer about an additional fee to be paid directly to you.
A customer’s RFB will be open to bidding for 7 days from when the request is submitted. After the 7 day bidding period is over, the bids that were placed for the RFB will only be valid for the next 7 days. After 14 days from when the RFB was submitted, all bids will disappear & no longer be valid.
After a customer accepts your bid, you will be emailed all the contact information for that customer (they will be emailed all of your information as well). This is information is also available on your dashboard. It is up to you to arrange to attain all the necessary tax documents & information you need in order to complete their tax return.
Please make bids wisely. To maintain the integrity of our website, all bids must be honored. Failure to do so may result in the termination of your membership without any refund.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to cancel your membership. After one year, your membership will simply expire.
The Tax Preparer ratings & reviews only come from actual Prosado customers. In order to complete a job process, every customer is asked to fill out a star rating, as well as say something that might help future customers make their decision for a Tax Preparer.This way, any rating & reviews you see are real & are by customers who have completed the entire process.
If you forget your password, reset it by clicking the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page. If you forget your email address, try an alternate address you may have used during sign up. If you are still unable to login, please contact us at customerservice@prosado.com and we will assist you further.
Some e-mail providers like Yahoo! Mail, GMail and Hotmail sometimes move Prosado e-mails to your junk or spam mail folder so please check there. If you find Prosado e-mails there, we recommend you add Prosado to your Safe Senders List. If Prosado e-mails are not in your junk mail or spam folder please let us know so we can assist you further. Just e-mail us at customerservice@prosado.com.
If you haven't received your payment for a job you've completed, make sure that your banking information is filled in completely. If we don't have all of your correct banking info, we aren't able to forward your fee to you.
Yes. All tax preparers on prosado.com must have an IRS issued PTIN in good standing. This verification process helps to ensure that all preparers have met the IRS standards for preparing tax returns in the US.
First, please make sure that you've entered it correctly. Secondly, part of our verification process checks the zip code associated with your PTIN. Please keep in mind that this might not be the same as the address zip code entered in your profile. If you recently moved, your PTIN is probably still associated with your old address or perhaps you simply used a completely different address with your PTIN registration. If the website still doesn't automatically verify your PTIN, don't worry...customer service will help you.
In the unlikely event that an issue arises between you and a customer that prevents you from working together, please contact Prosado customer service via email and we will work to resolve it. If a resolution is not possible and you absolutely cannot work with this customer, we will make other arrangements to find the customer a new tax preparer.
We don't think so. Our research has shown that very often customers are willing to pay more for the right fit. They will take into consideration your education level, experience and star rating. Don't get hung up on being the lowest. Simply bid an attractive price for both you and the customer.
Yes, all bids include state tax returns where applicable.
The information to verify your PTIN is very specific. If you have made any changes to your name (ie adding a designation, etc), your PTIN will need to be re-verified. If you would like to have your PTIN verified immediately, you can change your name back to exactly the way it was previously. If you feel that the change is necessary, you will be contacted by customer service to re-verify your PTIN within 2 business days.
When using a promo code, simply click on the "Profile Information" tab of your dashboard. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page & click on "Save & Proceed to Payment". You will be brought to the payment page where you will see a field for you to enter your promo code. Click on "Redeem" & you will see your discounted cost in the Order Details box above. In order to complete your transaction, you must complete the rest of the payment page below that & click on "Proceed".
